Popcorn in the evening was a staple, growing up in my house. And in my husband’s house, it was a Sunday night ritual. Whether we were playing cards, watching our favorite shows, or working on homework, the bowl of popcorn was right there with us.
Today I’m going to show you a super simple way to jazz up your popcorn for an extra sweet treat, with this Cherry Vanilla Popcorn Crunch!
My secret is in the ingredients. I had a pantry full of Gold Emblem Abound snacks from CVS, and saw that I had popcorn and a cherry vanilla almond snack mix.
Popcorn… cherry vanilla…
POPCORN…. CHERRY VANILLA…
A match made in heaven? Yup! But I didn’t stop there.
I really wanted to have something to melt over the popcorn mix, to give it a sweet taste and sort of stick the two snacks together, so I stole the yogurt melts out of my Probiotic Trail Mix!
I stuck that concoction in the microwave for about 30 seconds, and everything had melted and heated up nicely!
So I stirred the cherry vanilla mix in with the popcorn, and it made for a fantastic combination!
As a busy, busy mom of three (who has limited skills in the kitchen), I love easy recipes like these, which you can put together in a matter of minutes, and which elevate the ordinary snacks we are used to.
I also love the convenience of the Gold Emblem Abound snacks. I can grab any one of their snacks and know exactly what I’m giving my kids, because they include the product benefits right on the front of the packaging, and they are free of artificial flavors and preservatives.
But of course all the kids care about is the taste…
Let’s just say it was kid-approved!
Oh you’re going to like today’s challenge. It’s Day 22 of our “Baby Steps to a Better You” series, and I think we are ready for a little R&R, don’t you?
Today’s challenge is to do something fun with your family. Take a walk, play a game, watch a movie- anything that you can do all together. Some evenings we just pile everyone in the van and take a drive. It gets us out of the house for a bit, we can chat, and occasionally ice cream is involved. Family date nights are the best nights!
Hooray for popcorn, hooray for baby steps, and hooray for you because one of my readers is going to win a $50 gift card to CVS to buy some Gold Emblem Abound snacks and anything else you need for a fun family night!

Family night is great for us when we go through all the old photo albums – some of the pictures go back to 1920 and before, It’s really strange, because the people in the pictures seem to be gazing out at us!
I never thought of using the trail mix items and combining them with the popcorn that way it looks really good, I look forward to trying it.
