So…you know…
CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!
Okay before I go on, I just want to mention that I’m guest posting over at Your Modern Family today, with 5 Things I Learned from the First Week of Kindergarten. I would love love love if you wanted to pop over there and give my post a read and maybe a comment!
Back to what I wished for…
Well, as you may have read last week, I’ve joined Revolt Fitness as part of my attempt to get my pre-babies body back. There is a great Facebook group for the Revolters to communicate with one another, ask questions, and give support. Last week, Nichole, the owner of Revolt Fitness, posted something saying that she was looking for 12 people to be specially featured as they do 12 weeks (3 Uprisings) of her program.
“I’d like to highlight 12 of you over the course of 12 weeks on the site (September/October/November Uprisings). You will get to participate in a professional before & after photo shoot, you will have your own page on the site, and you will get personal support from me through a weekly group skype. In order to participate, you need to have your body composition professionally tested with a BodPod or equivalent professional method, to record a weekly video diary entry expressing your genuine feelings, and to follow the program to the best of your ability. I need some brave people, let’s do this!”
Lots of people responded, including myself. I emailed her to say that I was interested, but also nervous (um, how many people might see these before photos?), and I was a little concerned about what the costs might be (BodPod measurement, plus trip to Utah, plus following the meal plan to the letter which means lots of meat).
I didn’t get an email response, and since so many people were interested, she mentioned possibly doing a local version first and then branching out regionally. I figured I was out of the running.
Then, late Monday night in the midst of trying to get the baby to go to sleep, I saw that she had posted a video of her picking 12 names out of a hat. I wasn’t even sure if my name was in the hat. I finally got Harry to sleep and forgot all about the video…
…until 4am, when I was up feeding the baby. I checked my email on my phone, and I saw that I had a FB friend request from Nichole. Uh oh! I thought about it and decided that she probably wasn’t going through every Revolt member and friend requesting them. I wanted so badly to watch the video, but Harry was nursing and nursing and nursing… So eventually I just decided to turn the sound way down (didn’t want to wake Daniel up) and I put my phone to my ear. Didn’t have to wait long. My name was the third name pulled!
So there you have it. I am one of the 12 in 12 challenge participants! And I’m crazy excited!
The challenge will start in September, but for now I’m finishing up week two of August’s Uprising. I have been trying to eat well (and I’m still off sugar- one month down, eleven to go!), but I haven’t been following the meal plans. That will change in September!
I missed two workouts this week, but I got one in this morning, and it felt great! It was the first workout so far that I was able to do the whole way through without stopping for a break. Definitely empowering.
Oh, and I should probably mention that I’ve lost three pounds this week. And I lost three last week. That’s six pounds down in the first half of this month, and my goal was ten. So that’s exciting! I’m down 34 pounds since having the baby, and I’m approaching my pre (Harry) baby weight. I know the baby weight comes off faster and easier than the rest of it will, but it’s still a nice milestone to put behind me. Get off that extra baby weight and then get to work on what I have left to lose! I’m definitely giving some of the credit to Revolt Fitness. I’m officially a fan.
Are you on a fitness journey? Have a great post about healthy living? How about a nutritious recipe? Then make sure to stop by here on Sunday to link it up! Monika of Life With Lovebugs and I are excited to kick off our new link up!
