How To Eat

We are deep into week 3 on the Revolt Fitness 12 in 12 challenge. Last week I lost 1.6 pounds…and then dropped another 3.5 over the weekend due to a stomach virus! Well that’s one way to lose weight. I hardly ate anything, and what I did eat…well I lost 3.5 pounds so…
Now I’m feeling better and ready to get back on track. I’m hoping I can do well enough this week to keep off what I lost being sick, but we’ll see.
The thing that I really like about the Revolt Fitness program is that it’s teaching me how to eat. 6 days a week are on the meal plan, with one free day. I seriously think I could keep up a healthy diet if I always had a free day to look forward to. And once I reach my goal weight and I’m maintaining, that free day could even extend to free weekend.
The meal plan includes 6 meals a day, and you eat the same thing for a week before you move on to another set of meal plans. Now I don’t know if I would keep that up (eating the same thing every day), but it’s giving me a great education on what kind of meals I can make, with what kind of ingredients, and how to make things taste great without adding on calories and sugar.
For example, we had a smoothie last week that included spinach leaves, and once it was all said and done, you couldn’t taste the spinach at all. Now why would I ever make another smoothie without a bunch of spinach? It’s like vegetable freebies!
The best news? My husband has lately taken an interest in eating healthier too. He also cut out sugar, and he’s cut out most carbs too! The other night he was making burgers and I had him make me one. It was one of the most delicious things I’ve eaten! He made it protein style, with lettuce instead of a bun. Now I am a bread-and-cheese kind of girl, and for me, the meat on my burger is usually just a bonus rather than the main deal, but I didn’t miss the bun at all. It was juicy and super flavorful with the tomatoes and mustard I added.
After the 12 weeks of the challenge, I plan to take what I’ve learned from Revolt Fitness and get back to meal planning for the whole family- meals that are healthy and tasty to everyone!
