This post has been quite the work in progress. For almost a year I’ve planned on posting about my nautical kids bathroom, and about the adorable bathroom printables that I bought. But first I had to get everything I wanted to include, and that took a while. But it’s finally all finished, and I want to show you how I decorated my kids’ bathroom in our new house.
First let me say that I’m not a fan of “kid” things. I don’t like decorating with characters or shows, especially since kids change their favorites all the time. I like the items I chose because I think they work well for a kids’ bathroom and as a guest bathroom.
I decided on red and gray as my main colors, and the reason for that was because I found this adorable printable of a crab that says, “Wash Your Claws,” from double u design, on Etsy.
I fell in love with this printable, but in my searching, I found other versions of “wash your claws,” and some had a matching printable with a shark saying, “brush your chompers.” I just loved that, but I liked the double u design version the best.
So I emailed Kim, the shop owner, and asked her if she could make me a shark to match the crab. She did not disappoint!
How cute are they?! I just love them, and so do my kids.
So I used these printables as the basis for the rest of the bathroom. I went with a just-darker-than-primary red shower curtain from Walmart. I wanted something with a little bit of a pattern but mostly solid, and this one was a pretty good fit.
Then I knew I wanted to put the kids’ photos above their towels, a la this pin, and for a while I had them in plain white frames, but then I found these lifesaver frames!
Guess what? They were actually blue! I taped them up and painted the blue parts red, and there you go! Actually I originally ordered much more expensive red ones from a website which took four weeks to tell me they were discontinued. Then I ordered these from Oriental Trading, and it just so happened that they were on deep discount with free shipping the day I ordered them! Super win!
I picked up gray towels, a rug, and a lid cover from Ikea. I like their towels because they have the loop so you can just hang it on a hook. I got the hooks at Target and replaced the towel rack that came with the house.
Then I just needed a few accessories. Got the toothbrush holder and soap dispenser at Target, tossed a conch shell in the corner, and there you have it!
The point was to make it cute, but functional, and not over-decorated, as it tends to get cluttered with hair accessories and bath toys! I’m pretty happy with how it came out. What do you think?

AW those printables are adorable! And I love the idea of hanging their baby photos over their towel hooks!
Seriously darling details! Love how it’s still themed but not cutesy! Great job and thanks for the inspiration!
