Last week we talked about what to pack in baby’s hospital bag, but today it’s all about mom! My baby girl is due to arrive in just 10 days, so I’m finishing up all the last minute details, including packing my own hospital bag. Today I’ll show you everything I’m bringing to ensure a comfortable labor, delivery, and recovery!
Since having my first baby, I’ve coveted one of those “push packs” that comes prepackaged with everything you need to have at the hospital. But when I really looked at them, I decided that it would be cheaper (and more fun) to hit the travel toiletries aisle in Target and put together my own pack with my favorite brands and only the things I want.
So today I’ll show you the items I included in my DIY Push Pack, as well as what else I’m bringing along in my hospital bag.
DIY Push Pack
Here is everything I included in my Push Pack:
- Lip balm
- Deodorant
- Shampoo & conditioner
- Body wash
- Razor and shaving cream
- Hand sanitizer
- Makeup remover wipes
- Travel toothbrush & toothpaste
- Hair brush/comb
- Hair ties
This would be an awesome, inexpensive shower gift for any expecting mom! Just pick out a cute toiletry bag and fill it with the above travel-sized items. I’ll definitely be bringing these to showers from now on. It would be such a nice surprise- something special for mom along with all the cute baby items.
Of course, this isn’t all I’m bringing to the hospital! I’ll be packing my push pack in my hospital bag along with everything else I’ll need for my stay.
What to Pack in Mom’s Hospital Bag
The difference between my two hospital bags is that the baby’s bag has everything I’ll need after she arrives, and my own bag includes several items I’ll want to have on hand the whole time I’m at the hospital. That way we don’t have to bring in everything at once, and my hubby can go retrieve the baby’s bag when we need it.
So here’s what I’m bringing…
- DIY Push Pack
- ModMum delivery gown
- Isotoner slippers
- Lansinoh lanolin cream and breast pads
- Chromebook
- Notepad and pens
- Comfortable clothing
- Make-up bag
- Camera
- Phone and charger
Make sure you bring things that will keep you entertained and comfortable during labor, and pampered after labor. You deserve it after everything you’ve endured for the past 9 months!
And hey, if you want to save yourself the trouble and let someone else do all the work for you, check out these hospital packs that are already put together!
Now that my bags are packed, it’s just counting down the days and watching for signs of labor! I can’t wait to meet my little one, and I wish you the best of luck with yours!
