One of those days…

by Megan

Yeah…so today…

AC went out yesterday, so today my house slowly heated up from about 88 degrees to about 94 degrees before it finally began to drop again in the evening.

Rented a carpet cleaner without realizing that my parents already own one and then got frustrated with how quickly it ran out of fluid and how often I had to refill it. Went ahead and spent a few hours shampooing carpets even though my house was super hot.

Planned on shampooing all the carpets in my house, until I realized that 1. it was 94 degrees in my house, and 2. that would be impossible to finish today all by myself. I don’t have the room to completely clear out each room, so I had to do half a room, wait for it to dry, and then move the furniture, do the other half, wait for it to dry, and then move the furniture back. I got 1.5 rooms done. Will finish the other half of room 2 in the morning, then I have to return the cleaner.

Got no break, because as soon as Carter finally took his nap (after getting up over and over again), Vanessa was awake and finished with her (too short) nap.

Waited for the AC guy who was an hour late, just to have him tell me that our compressor is shot and needs to be replaced which 1. probably won’t happen until Monday, and 2. will probably cost 1-2 thousand dollars.

Did I mention that I was shampooing carpets because we were planning a little birthday party for Carter at our house tomorrow? Well, had to replan that, since we won’t have AC.

Got a bad rash. Don’t know how. But it hurts.

Started to feel sick with allergies- scratchy throat, runny nose, feeling run-down.

Spent from 9-10:30pm putting the house back into (relative) order from when I messed it up earlier, thinking I’d be shampooing all the carpets.

Spent from 10-11pm trying to get Vanessa to sleep- first she wanted to play, then she wanted to cry a lot.

And then I wrote this blog. With a fan blowing on me. At least there’s only 49 minutes left in this day. At least the Benedryl I took is probably going to put me out pretty soon.

Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
