So I was at my parents’ house this week, and we started talking about how many push-ups we thought we could do. My sister immediately said, “Oh, I could easily do at least 50!” So I challenged her to meet her estimate. For myself, I said I could probably do at least 25. My mom said she couldn’t do any at all. So Mallory went first, and she made it to 10 before collapsing. Then she tried again, even though she was tired and made it to 5.
I was all nervous because the pressure was on for me, but I made it to my 25 and then cranked out 5 more to make it to 30! Then my dad wanted in, so he tried and made it to 1.5 before he was done. And then my mom went, insisting that she couldn’t do any, and she was pretty much right. She started up, made it to 90 degree arms, and then just slowly went the rest of the way to the floor. It was pretty funny. So we said she did half of one… Then later Mallory tried again and made it to 23.
Anyway, it was fun, and I totally went over my goal. It’s helpful to have people to whom you are accountable, like our sugar challenge, because I’m just competitive enough (or prideful?) to make it happen! So if you’re trying to meet a goal, find a buddy and make it a challenge!

Your quote: Christopher Walken on SNL. :)
I can’t do push-ups, but you should see me walk. I can walk.
25? On your toes? Jillian would be proud.
30 on my toes, thank you very much!
