Whole Foods Tempe: Where Food and Music Collide

If you are local to the Phoenix valley and want to guarantee yourself an awesome Saturday, plan on stopping by the Whole Foods Vinyl Record Launch party, at the Whole Foods Market Tempe (5120 S. Rural Rd).

If you already thought Whole Foods was pretty cool, then you’re really in for a treat. The Tempe location has now partnered with River Jones music, an independent record label, and they are selling vinyl records and CDs from local bands!

We have a record player in our house, and we love to play old vinyls. There’s just something about the imperfect sound quality that is so appealing. It has character. My kids still call the records “DVDs!”

If you’re like me, you’re 5’1″ and named Megan then your idea of paradise is a place where great music and great food come together. Well that is just what will be happening from 4-7pm this Saturday (March 8th). Local band Ruca from Phoenix will be performing live at the event, and Whole Foods will be offering some great deals on Arizona foods.

Also, local suppliers will be doing in-store demos such as “create your own guacamole” (yes please) and “whoopie pies decorated like vinyl records” (hey, since when do whoopie pies exist out of New England?!).

It sounds like a fantastic party, and I’m sad that I’m going to be out of town this Saturday! But I’m helping to spread the word so that my local readers can go out and enjoy the event! I hope you’ll stop by and have fun on my behalf!
