Making my impressions was kind of fun! You combine the base paste and catalyst paste and then spread it into the blue trays, then you make an impression of your top and bottom teeth. When you send your impressions back to Smile Brilliant, they create your trays, which are an exact replica of your own teeth! Mine fit perfectly.
Once you get your trays back, it’s time for the whitening! The gel is already inside of the syringes you receive, so you put a thin layer of gel onto your trays, and then put them on your teeth for as long as you want.
The longer and more often your whitening sessions, the sooner your teeth will be restored to their natural white.
And that’s an important point. This system is not bleaching your teeth white. Rather, it removes stains that your teeth have acquired over time and restores their natural color. It’s a totally safe process. You may experience tooth sensitivity, but the kit also includes some desensitizing gel that will help reduce it. I will say that I did not experience any sensitivity even after keeping the trays in for an hour at a time, 3 days in a row, and I have experienced sensitivity with other teeth whitening products in the past.
But do they work? Definitely. I saw improvement in the color of my teeth after just one application. And just now, as I was rereading information from the company, I saw that they believe that most people will achieve complete stain removal after 5-7 sessions of 3 hours or wearing the trays to bed. Guess I know what I’ll be doing tonight!
