Time for another goals post (goalpost?), can you believe it? August just flew by. My little boy is 4, a new school year is in full swing, and we are hoping that the weather will start to cool down to under 100 degrees.
Let’s take a look at last month’s goals:
Goals for August:
Get completely unpacked and organize and beautify our new home- pretty much!
I am happy with what I’ve done so far. The inside of the house is almost totally organized, with frames up on the wall, etc. I think there is one bin of stuff inside that has yet to be dealt with. I’ve also spent a lot of time organizing our storage in the garage, making sure every bin is properly labeled and everything is in its place. The giant pile in the middle of my garage floor has been greatly reduced in size, and just a small pile remains, of things which probably just need to go in a couple of bins marked “miscellaneous.”

Take a dance class- signed up!
I found a dance studio I was interested in, and when I called about taking a class, the conversation ended with me going in for a job interview! Long story short, there were some red flags, and I’ve decided not to take or teach classes there. I found another studio, only 2 miles from my house, and signed up for a tap class that starts this Wednesday! When I called to inquire about the class, they said they needed at least 6 people to hold the class, and they already had a list of 5 people who were interested, so you’re welcome, tappers!
Finish my training and run a half-marathon- did it!
Establish a routine- yep!
Did it, blogged about it! No two days with children are ever quite the same, but I think we are finally past the transition phase and enjoying our new life in Surprise. Now if we could just sell our house!
So…I guess I hit all my goals in August! Go me! Onwards!

Redo my “best of” page
I want to format it like my new “friends and favorites” page, with pictures for each post.
30 Day Shred
I’ve done this dvd many times before, but I’ve never put the 30 day challenge into action. Now that my half marathon is over, I want to take a little break from running and do more of a strength training routine for awhile. I plan to do this every Monday-Saturday, starting Tuesday (when I’m home from vacation), and that should get me 23 days through the program in September, and then I can finish it up in October. I’m ready to rock it!
Buy “big girl” bras and find jeans that fit
This was going to be a goal anyway, and then yesterday my sisters-in-law and I got into a conversation that resulted in us trying on each other’s jeans and checking out each other’s rear ends in the jeans we were wearing. I am totally not wearing the right jeans or bras for my body, and in September I plan to change that! Have you read this article? Most of us had, and ever since I read it, I’ve been wanting to go try some new brands of jeans. I tried on my sister-in-law’s Express jeans yesterday, and turns out that I’m at least one size, maybe two, smaller than I thought!
As for the bras, well, a few years ago I just gave up trying to find a comfortable bra that fit, and I just started wearing cheap Walmart sports bras all the time. But there has to be a well-fitting, comfortable, flattering bra out there for me, and I intend to find it!
