Shaping Up For Summer: A New Month

I love the beginnings of months. I feel like I’m closing the book of the month before, finished with all the things I had to do that month, and ready to move onward!

This month is no different, except now we are an entire month into Shaping Up For Summer, and that much closer to summer! Three months left. March, April, and May. Still lots of opportunity for change.

This month I lost 2.2 pounds. My current weight is 167.6.

Someone bought running shorts!

I’m happy to be solidly in the 160s, and I’m excited because to be in the 150s again would be major for me. I have to start putting in some serious effort though, because this is where it gets hard. This is where my body says, no, I like it here. This is comfortable.

But it’s not comfortable. Trust me! I’ve gone down a size in jeans, but they are just a bit tight. No room for pizza, in other words! I’m definitely at the point where I have to commit and lose (at least) 5 more pounds, to be comfortably in this new size. Because if I gain anything at all, it’ll be back to my bigger jeans!

This past week I exercised no times. It was kind of a strange week, actually. I felt sick for most of it. I was nauseous, with a headache, and incredibly exhausted.

Yeah, I know what you’re thinking. No…I’m not!

It may be the recent increase in my thyroid medication that caused a little strangeness, but yesterday I felt much better, so hopefully I’m either over whatever sickness I had, or I’m getting used to the new dosage.

Now that I’m feeling better, I’m itching to get back out and run. Now that it’s getting a little lighter in the mornings, I’d like to start getting up early to go running.

March looks to be a hectic month, as usual. We leave on Friday to go to California for show choir competitions and Disneyland. That will lead us right into spring break, and I will be having more rehearsals for my play that opens at the beginning of April.

Spring is in the air here, how about where you are at? Are you ready to start thinking about shaping up for this summer? Three months until summer. Three months until I’m 30. Three months to totally kill it and reach the goals you’ve set.

My body seems to be quite comfortable in the 150s … I’ll be ok with anything under, but I’m struggling so to just get under. I’m so close … yet always seeming to stay SO close, but not there. I’ll have to go back and read more about what you are up to. When I was in high school, I was very involved in drama and music. The lead in the musical, we traveled to California with choir. Fun memories … now I really only sing to myself.

I hope you feel better soon! I was just thinking “well are you pregnant?!”, but you already answered that question :)

I’m definitely looking forward to the summer! I started training for a May race this week and that means there is only 10 weeks remaining until MAY… and maybe even summer weather. One can hope :)
