My days are usually go-go-go, so it’s always nice to snuggle on the couch with my little one at the end of the day and read some books together. Even better if those are sensory books that are beautiful to look at and fun to read!
I received this product for free from Moms Meet (momsmeet.com) to use and post my honest opinions. Compensation for this post was provided and this page may contain affiliate links.
Melody and I were sent a selection of books from the Priddy Books Early Learning Collection to read and enjoy together, and we just adore them! They have such gorgeous imagery and engaging sensory elements that I can’t get my hands off them!
Must-Have Sensory Books
Some of the books we were sent are perfect for babies and toddlers and some were more suited for the preschool crowd. Since we’ve said “sayonara” to the diaper stage, we are going to gift the baby books to a new cousin who is expected to arrive in just a few weeks!
You can find all of these books and more here on Amazon. Read on to learn more about our favorites!
Sensory Books for Toddlers and Babies
Bright Baby: Touch and Feel Baby Animals
Babies will love meeting the animals in this book — each page has a new furry friend to pet. The rhyming text introduces each animal and stimulates baby’s vocabulary skills.
See, Touch, Feel
Little ones will love looking at the babies in this book! Each page has different textures in bold colors that even adults won’t be able to resist touching.
The sensory play activities will help babies develop motor skills and begin to recognize words.
This book is great for babies…but I have to be honest and say how much I enjoyed it too. We’ve had other Alphaprints books, and it’s always a joy to see how they incorporate fingerprints and everyday objects to create the characters and settings in their books.
This is a quick, simple read that babies will likely sit through and enjoy looking at the colorful pictures, but it’s also a good gateway book for toddlers who may be able to memorize and then “read” the book on their own — an important step toward actual independent reading!
Sensory Books for Preschoolers
My First Play and Learn Farm
This book is extra special because it comes with reusable play pieces to complete activities on each page. Preschoolers will have lots of fun while learning about animals, colors, and patterns.
First 100 Numbers
Melody is still a year away from Kindergarten, but we’re getting her ready now! One of her goals is to learn to count to 100, so this book came at the perfect time. I’m excited to use it every day to help her get comfortable counting to 100.
The book has bright pictures of fun objects to help little ones learn to count, and on the final two pages there are 100 yellow chicks, so we can use those pages to practice counting all the way from 1 to 100!
I know sometimes at the end of the day you just want your little one to head right to bed so you can get a break, but these sensory books make bedtime stories an enjoyable time for both of you!
