It’s spring break for us this week, and summer is right around the corner! It’s the time of year when a lot of families are traveling for vacations or to visit family. But one thing that can really derail all your fun travel plans is getting sick!
I mean think about it, you’re in the car all day, you’re stopping at gas stations and fast food places, using public restrooms, touching and breathing in who-knows-what-germs and sharing them with your whole family! Not to mention the fact that changes in climate can bring about major allergies.
So today I’ve put together a fun “Road Trip Survival Kit” which features Well At Walgreens products that will help with relieving pain and allergy issues while on the road!
This weekend we traveled out to California, and this summer we have a much longer trip planned across the country to Maine! We love to travel, and our transportation of choice is the car.
Don’t head out on the road without reading about these awesome Road Trip Car Hacks!
Road trips are a favorite for us, as we love to visit new places and places along the way. Here are some of the things I think are absolute essentials when traveling in the car with kids!
*Snacks– I really don’t think I need to explain this one! The healthier the better, but whatever keeps everyone from getting hangry…
*First Aid Kit– Best to be prepared! A small compact kit should have the essentials, or put your own together!
*Toys– Books are always good, Magna Doodle-type drawing toys are fun and mess-free, and if all else fails, a tablet or portable DVD player should keep the kids entertained for a while.
*Baby Wipes– A.K.A. life savers. These things clean up anything and everyone.
*Headphones– For when everyone wants to listen to different music and chaos breaks out, or for when you need to drone out Barney!
*Hand Sanitizer– Trust me.
*Books/Magazines/Tablet– Whatever will keep you entertained as the passenger parent. I like to catch up on my favorite blogs on my iPad mini, or read a mindless magazine to pass the time.
*Take ‘n Toss– If you have a little one, like me, and you’ll be feeding him or her baby food, you should get the Take ‘n Toss spoons. They come in a pack of 8 or 10, and they are sturdy enough to be washed and reused at home, but not so expensive that it would be at tragedy if you threw one away while on the road.
*Sunscreen– I hope you are going somewhere sunny, so I’ll include sunscreen on my list. I like the spray on kind plus the sticks for faces.
*Travel-sized Toiletries– Don’t pretend like you don’t LOVE that aisle with all the adorable little mini versions of your favorite products! Mini toothpaste, mini deodorant, mini baby wash… Convenient, just the right amount, and oh so adorable.
*Vitamins and Medicine– Like I said at the beginning of the post, taking a long road trip, with kids, to a different climate, is really just asking for trouble!
Would you have thought of including vitamins, supplements, and medicine in your road trip packing? I haven’t in the past, but it’s a super smart idea.
When you travel you are stopping at very public, very germ-y places, and if your kids are like mine, they
are adorable will not hesitate to lick doors and eat food off the ground.
Plus, you are probably on an abnormal sleep schedule, possibly going through different time zones, and a quick change in climate can cause major allergy issues in a lot of people. Best to be prepared with a variety of health products to keep yourself going strong.
I went to Walgreens where, for the month of March, all of their Well At Walgreens items are buy one, get one 50% off. I love how easy it was to find what I needed, because of the branded packaging and clear labeling of what each product does.
We stocked up on the Children’s Gummy Multivitamins, Probiotic Digestive Support, Wal-Dryl (for allergy relief), Children’s Pain and Fever, Headache Relief, and Ibuprofen. I think we covered all of our bases!
I’m happy to shop at a store that is committed to helping people by providing them with convenient and affordable healthcare solutions and products, such as the Well At Walgreens line. So stock up this month and take a vacation!
Where are you traveling this year?
