Nitty Gritty: Feedburner Day Five

Thanks for joining me again for:

Day Three: Customizing
Day Four: Scheduling

Did you know that if you have a FeedBurner account, you can have your blog posts automatically posted to Twitter? And if you have your Twitter account linked to Facebook, they will post automatically there as well!

If you have a Blogger blog, then you should already have a FeedBurner account. Log into FeedBurner with your Google account, and click on your feed (it should be your blog’s name). If you have more than one feed, just click on the one with the most subscribers:

Click on the Publicize tab at the top, and then click on “Socialize” on the left hand sidebar:

The next screen will allow you to connect your Twitter account to your blog. Click “Add Twitter Account” and supply the information. Then you can customize how this feature works! You can choose to have the tweet include a link to the blog post, create hashtags from your labels, and allow others to retweet. There is also a place where you can add extra text that will always show up at the beginning or end of the tweet.

Here is an example of two of my blog posts that were automatically posted to Twitter by FeedBurner:

And since my Twitter account is linked to my Facebook page, my blog posts show up there automatically as well!

So now you know how to get your blog posts automatically posted to Twitter and Facebook, and maybe save yourself a little bit of time!

I just wanted to let you know that I this series was super helpful to me. I found your blog via the September Goals party on My So-Called Chaos. I’ve just read the entire series and used it to update my feed settings (which I didn’t even know I could customize).

Thanks so much for writing this; I’m really looking to the next Nitty Gritty series.
