My Little Tiebreaker: Week 6

by Megan

I was excited to start the “baby talk” on my blog, now that I’m in the depths of the first trimester with this little one. But the nausea has taken up residence, and I find myself wanting to think about other things!

Let’s get Mom some Zofran for Christmas!

I don’t know yet if I will do a weekly post on this pregnancy, for a few reasons. First, I find myself skipping over those posts on other blogs, so maybe they aren’t just very interesting to others. Second, I have no interest in sharing weekly photos of my stomach with the entire world, so you won’t even be getting that!

But here we are, week 6. My little tiebreaker. Unless there’s two in there. But let’s not talk about that.

I have just started to feel the sickness, and it’s now almost constant. I guess that’s a sign of a healthy baby, though, so I’ll take it. With Carter, I was nauseous, but not to an extreme. With Vanessa, I threw up everything.

I’m hoping to get in to see a doctor before the end of the month. When I was really sick with Vanessa, by the time I saw a doctor and got a prescription for the “good stuff” it was the end of the first trimester, and the nausea let up. Now I’m cursing myself for not filling the prescription and hanging on to it!

If you’ve been reading my blog, then you know that I’m in the midst of a full time long term sub assignment, as well as working my 18-hour-a-week part time job, so that’s why it’s been quiet around here lately. Very busy over here, and I’m not sure whether I’m happy that this is coinciding with my first trimester. On one hand it’s distracting me from feeling sick, but on the other hand it’s bombarding me with everything at once!

I’m just looking forward to how relieved I will feel in February when I’m back to staying at home with the kiddos. I already have a new found appreciation for being home during the day!

I was so thankful I didn’t get the 1st trimester symptoms that most women get..the nausea and vomiting.
Hang in mama … it’ll be over soon!

Oh, I feel your pain. The nausea is awful. Hang in there. I have mixed feelings a about weekly pregnancy updates, I think occasionals ones are good though, every week gets to be a little much.
