My 6 Year Plan

by Megan

Last year I wrote about my 7 year plan, and well, it’s been a year since then! So my 7 year plan has become my 6 year plan, and things are shaping up great! #seewhatIdidthere

I try my best to enjoy the “now” while still being excited and hopeful about the future. I love thinking ahead to when my kids are all in school, and I’m out of the “small kids at home” phase. I think about all of the ways I can use that extra time that I’ll have. But at the same time, I’m going to squeeze every ounce of awesome out of the next 6 years.

If things happen the way I’m hoping, 6 years from now my youngest child will be starting Kindergarten. At that point I will work from home, possibly taking on more hours at my part-time job, or being able to blog during the day and save evenings for family time.

And yes, if you can do math, you’ll have figured out that this means that we are trying to have a baby! I’m hoping we can get pregnant with baby #4 (#babyfinal) as soon as possible. Because if baby has other ideas, then the 6 year plan might go back to being a 7 year plan!

3-kids-for-now
3 little monkeys, for now!

Last year was great. We kept busy with work, school, theatre productions, and vacations. This year is going to be similar in a lot of ways. We have productions on the schedule, vacations planned, and just like last year, our oldest son is in school, and the two younger kids are home with me. Next year will be a little different, when Vanessa starts school!

My year is going to start off busy, as the show I’m directing rehearses in August and September, and performs in October. After that things should taper off a bit…to just our regular crazy schedule! Carter now takes Tae Kwon Do twice a week, Vanessa is starting gymnastics/dance class, I work part-time and choreograph for show choirs, and then there’s the whole blogging thing, and then there’s (hopefully) the whole baby thing!

Daniel and I will be headed to the Turks and Caicos in October (#BeachesMoms!) to celebrate our 10 year anniversary, and in summer 2016 we are planning on a trip to Maine, since we didn’t visit this summer.

So it’s shaping up (#ididitagain) to be a great school year! Lots of people to love, lots of things to do, and lots to look forward to!

Alright, since this post was mostly me talking about…me, I’ll leave you with this entertaining video of my son falling asleep while eating a grilled cheese sandwich. Enjoy!

I’d love to know- are you in the middle of a “# year plan?” What is your plan?
