I am thrilled to announce that I have joined the Netflix Stream Team and will be posting monthly about everything Netflix!
My husband and I were Netflix subscribers back in the day when they sent us up to 3 DVDs at a time. Yes, kids, through the mail. At one point we tightened up our finances, and we canceled our Netflix subscription. Then a few years later, when they started online streaming, and when we had decided to not have a TV at home, I thought it would be a great Christmas gift to Daniel, to resubscribe.
It was like Netflix was waiting for me. My old account was still there, just waiting for me to sign in and say, “Let’s do this again!” I did just that, and we’ve been happily streaming ever since!
This month’s Stream Team theme (ooh that’s fun to say, stream team theme, stream team theme) is Mini Milestones. And if you have little ones like me, you know these well!
Kids lives are filled with “firsts.” First Christmas, first tooth, first baby brother or sister, first day of school, etc. These can be exciting and scary moments in their lives, and the lives of their moms!
Netflix has provided a list of video suggestions for kids who are experiencing something for the first time. I know that my own kids learn a lot from watching their favorite shows, such as letter names and how to share. What a great idea to have them watch a show about their mini milestone! Here are some of the suggestions:
New Sibling: The Hive: S01E01, Babee’s Room
Losing Your First Tooth: Super WHY: S01E10, The Story of the Tooth Fairy
First Trick-or-Treat: Jack and the Never Land Pirates: S02E15, Tricks, Treats and Treasure!
First Pet: Beethoven
And it’s not just kids celebrating milestones; we have plenty as adults too!
Getting Married: My Fair Wedding with David Tutera
Having a Baby: What to Expect When You’re Expecting
Buying a Home: House Hunters
New Job: The Office
I could watch House Hunters all day. I love seeing the insides of different houses and imagining how I would decorate them!
It’s a busy life, but there’s nothing like curling up on the couch at the end of the day and watching an old favorite or something new! I love the selection on Netflix; I could watch all day and not get bored. Newbie tip: check out the documentaries!

Our upcoming mini milestones include a trip to Disney (our first without Gramma and Grampa along), Carter’s first loose tooth, and hopefully in another year or so, baby #4!
