When you bring home a new baby, you are going to have so many people who just “have” to come see her! In our case, this included relatives, close friends, and about 150 teenaged students! We decided it was a good idea to host the throng all at once and invited them over for an open house, meet-the-baby party!
We set the date and time (an hour and a half was plenty long), and put out an open invitation for anyone to drop by. We said that no presents were requested, just their “presence” (see what I did there?).
I hit the party store and bought some balloons and a few other supplies, and then just got pink lemonade, sugar cookies, mini cupcakes, and chocolate candies for a dessert table.
The flowers my parents brought to us when we were at the hospital made for a pretty, extra decoration on the side, and with just those simple touches, the room was ready for partiers!
We set out packages of WaterWipes on the dessert table and around the room, for our guests to use and take home. They were used in lots of ways during our party: cleaning up messes, cleaning up kids, and cleaning hands before holding baby!
I like WaterWipes because they really live up to their name, being 99.9% pure Irish water, with 0.1% grapefruit seed extract. They are chemical free and totally safe to use on baby (and everyone else!). I use them for messy faces, diaper changes, and wiping down furniture in the nursery!
You can’t always ensure that the products you use around your home are the safest and most natural, but when it comes to something I’ll be using on my kids’ faces and hands, I’m glad to know that WaterWipes are so pure, and effective too!
The party was a huge success. We had no idea how many people would show up, but we ended up with about 30 guests! The door bell just kept ringing.
Everyone got a chance to see the new little Miss Melody, and we have the pictures to show her later just how loved she was, at just 6 days old!
