Moms, you deserve a break! After a long week of taking care of everyone around you, it’s time to take care of yourself. Do you ever treat yourself to a day out? I mean without the kids! Last Saturday, I got the ultimate treat- a day at the Imagine Salon and Day Spa in Surprise, AZ.
I knew that I wanted a change of hairstyle, so I specifically looked for a place that offered spa services along with a full service hair salon, and I found it at Imagine. It’s a small, hidden gem, tucked away in the gorgeous Bel Mar Plaza, and they pack a ton of amazing services into their space. I was so excited to be offered complimentary services, so that I could share them with you here on the blog!
I began my day at the spa with the Elemental Nature Facial. Imagine offers a variety of facials to help rejuvenate your skin. Dominique asked me if I had ever had a facial, and I said, “Yes! Ten years ago.” To which she replied, “Oh well then that doesn’t count!”
She also asked me what products I use on my skin, and I told her, “Ummm, I use sunscreen sometimes.” She gently reminded me that I’m old and begged me to at least use moisturizer. I’m going to do better, Dominique, I promise!
It took me a second to get comfortable. Not physically- Imagine’s facial and massage rooms have nice soft robes and beds, with dark lighting and relaxing music- but I’m not used to just lying down and saying yes, pamper me now! As moms, do we ever truly completely relax? But there’s a time for everything, including letting someone else take care of you, so that’s just what I did!
The facial included treatment with several Aveda products, all made with pure plant and flower ingredients, and for the rest of the day, my skin felt amazing. I also enjoyed the steam treatment and massages that went along with the facial.
From there I went to the next room for a Swedish Massage by Ashley. I told her about how my first massage had been when I was pregnant, and I was so happy to be lying on my stomach that the massage was just the icing on the cake! Imagine also offers prenatal massage, as well as hot stone massage and several other options.
The massage was so relaxing that I was definitely dozing off at the end of it! After she was finished, Ashley got me a bottle of water, and I tried to wake myself up a little bit! Next up was a Spa Manicure and Spa Pedicure by Sandy.
I hardly ever get my nails done, so it was much-needed! I think they came out super cute.
After my manicure, I got to sit back and get a pedicure. I had my first-ever pedicure right after Vanessa was born, and three-and-a-half years later, I was way overdue for another! It felt amazing to get my feet all filed and buffed after years of dancing and running.
At the end, I had pretty, sparkly toes! Definitely an improvement, and necessary since I wear flip flops every day!
Then it was time for the hair! I was due for a change, after having grown my hair out for a couple of years. Here is my “before” photo:
Then Mimi, my hair stylist, made the cut! No going back now!
With almost 11 inches of hair gone, it was time for a color and style. I wanted to go blond, so Mimi got me all foiled up, and then we waited for the dye to do its magic.
The haircut came with a scalp massage, which is the one I was waiting for all day! It felt so nice. And I think I got my fourth hand massage of the day!
Ready for the “after” photo? First, here’s a better “before:”
And here’s the “after!”
Mimi got exactly the style I wanted, and I love it! I usually have a little bit of regret after chopping off my hair, but not this time! I think I might be going blonder in the future, though!
Wendy, the salon owner, said, “You should go out tonight!” Well, Daniel had already planned us a date, so not only did I have a full day at the spa, but I also got taken out on the town!
Thanks so much to everyone at Imagine Salon & Day Spa, for a fantastic day of serious pampering! If you live in the area, I highly recommend paying them a visit.
Right now is a great time to visit Imagine Salon & Day Spa, as they are offering $20 off for any new service. Try something new, and let someone take care of you for a change!
Whether you’re able to treat yourself to a full day at the spa, or just a warm bubble bath after the kids are in bed, do something this weekend that’s just for you, Moms. You deserve it.

Aww seems like so much fun and I love that toe nail colour! Haha I have the same problem with not moisturizing because I’m lazy but now I’m trying an online personalized skincare service Vain Pursuits. I can’t wait to try my products when they come in the mail and hopefully they’ll cure my flaky skin problems!
