I Like Things That Are F’n Easy

by Megan

There are two things you should know about me.

1. I am not a healthy eater.

2. I am a terrible cook.

When the opportunity arose to shop at Fresh & Easy (grocery chain in AZ, NV, and CA), prepare a meal for my family, and write about it, I thought, “Here’s my chance to embrace fresh, healthy foods and cook my family a delicious, healthy meal they will rave about for years to come!”

Then I remembered two things about myself.

1. I am not a healthy eater.

2. I am a terrible cook.

Oh. Yeah.

It is one of my goals to be better at making meals for my family: better at planning, better at providing a variety of healthy foods, etc.

But a post about how I prepared the perfect fresh summer meal just wasn’t “me.”

Luckily, upon arriving at my local Fresh & Easy, it was apparent that I could not fail, given the fantastic inventory of fresh and frozen foods available. I mean, this place had everything. From my reliable sleeves of Coca Cola (which, yes, I bought), to perfectly ripe strawberries, fresh&easy brand. The store has its own brand of foods, “fresh&easy” brand, which can be found in every aisle. The majority of the products I bought were fresh&easy brand, and they were all super high-quality.

The kids and I explored every aisle, and since I made the classic mistake of shopping while hungry, we of course ended up with both a chocolate cake AND an apple pie. #pregnant #longhairdontcare

We ended up checking out the ready-to-go meals, of which there was a huge selection. I decided to get cheese tortellini, with breadsticks, and we added some vanilla ice cream to go with our apple pie for dessert.

When I got home, I checked the packages to see how long it would take to prepare our meal. Imagine my surprise when the answer was “11 minutes!”

Ahh, so much more “me!”

The breadsticks cooked in the oven, while the tortellini heated up in the microwave, and less than 15 minutes after I had started, dinner was served!

And we couldn’t forget dessert.

Now if that’s not “F’n Easy” I don’t know what is!

It was great to discover a new place close to home that I had not heard of before! If you happen to live near a Fresh & Easy, I recommend making a visit. And while you’re at it, here is a coupon for $5 off a purchase of $20 or more!

I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls Collective and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.
