We did a lot of Halloween crafts this year, thanks mostly to my mom! We spent a weekend at her house, and she was oh-so-prepared with funtivities. Today I’m going to show you the food crafting we did, and then on Tuesday I’ll share our non-edible creations!
First, the kids had a lovely little Halloween lunch:
Aren’t they cute…and a little creepy?!
All you need is an 11-ounce can of refrigerated breadsticks, hot dogs, and mustard. Separate the strips of breadstick dough, cut each in half lengthwise, and then wrap two or three strips around the hot dogs, leaving a space near the top. Bake on a cookie sheet for 15 minutes at 350 degrees, then add two drops of mustard for the eyes.
For dessert, we had spider cupcakes!
These are just regular cupcakes-from-a-box, with some food coloring and various “extras,” set on spider cupcake holders from Home Goods. They look great on the table, and would be perfect for a spooky party!
The last food craft we actually ran out of time for, but my mom gave it a go after we left:
Ever thought of carving oranges?! Well you can, and they look like adorable little pumpkins! Just cut a hole in the top and scrape out the inside, like you would with a pumpkin, carve a little face, and insert a green straw for the stem!
Thanks for stopping by! Come by on Tuesday to see the rest of our Halloween crafts!
