Since I’m pregnant, I thought it would be fun to review some pregnancy/baby related products on my blog throughout the next few months, and a few lovely companies have agreed to work with me and my little old blog. For the next several Fridays, I’ll be reviewing the Bella B Bodycare products that were sent to me from Due Maternity, so check back each week to see how I liked them!
The first product up for review is the Bella B Tummy Honey Butter (stretch mark prevention with cocoa, shea, and aloe vera, soothes itching).
First of all, I’m a sucker for anything that comes in a cute container, so the Tummy Honey and I got along immediately. I was a little surprised when I opened it to find more of a waxy substance. I guess with the word “butter” I was expecting something creamier, but that just made it more fun to play with (not that I did that… #idid).
One thing that I know I’m going to end up saying about all the Bella B products is how much I love the scent! These people understand pregnant mamas! The Tummy Honey has a very mild, but very lovely scent. Just enough to smell nice without overpowering our sensitive pregnant noses!
When I stopped playing around with the Tummy Honey and actually put it to use, I was pleased. It does soothe itching, as it claims, which is something I deal with a lot when pregnant! After applying, my skin did feel slightly waxy for awhile, as the product doesn’t rub in completely like a lotion might. But rather than that being a downside, I thought it was a good thing. It made me feel like my skin was being moisturized and protected for a long time.
As far as the “stretch mark prevention” claim, I can’t speak too well to that, since well, I already have them! I ended up with a lot of stretch marks from my first pregnancy, but no new ones that I could tell from my second (or third so far), but I didn’t use a specific product during either pregnancy to try to prevent them. I know there are varying opinions out there as to whether or not stretch marks are preventable, but here is my take: if I were a first-time mom, I would take all measures to try to prevent them!
So my final word on the Bella B Tummy Honey is that I would recommend it to first-time pregnant mamas because of the nice smell, itch relief, and possible stretch mark prevention.
Also, if you start a gift registry on Due Maternity, they will send you this Tummy Honey for free!
