Concerts

by Megan

Our Christmas season so far has been filled with performances, including three in the past three days. Show choir and jazz band performed in Benson on Saturday morning. The music cut out at the very beginning of Anthem’s last song, but they finished it a cappella- dancing, singing, key changes and all. It was pretty great!

Then Sunday night I sang in the community Christmas celebration, and Daniel conducted about half the concert. It was the first time I’ve ever been conducted by him, and I have to say that he is great. We performed a song that he wrote especially for that concert, and it was amazing. He’s such a talented composer! The concert was a very spiritual experience for me, so that was nice and somewhat unexpected. And Carter got to play the Baby Jesus in the live nativity. He was so adorable. He started getting fussy, so Baby Jesus had a pacifier for a few minutes (“a little crying he made”), but then he fell asleep for the rest of it. His resume is growing! So far he has: Annie Get Your Gun (fetus) and Live Nativity (Baby Jesus). He’s growing into his roles…

Well I wanted to post the lyrics to one of the songs we sang, but they are unavailable online, and I don’t have the music. If I can find it, I will edit this post.

Merry Christmas!
