Harrison will be one month old on Saturday, and it has flown by! I’m excited to hopefully see some real smiles from this guy in the coming days.
He sure is a sweet, easy baby. I cannot complain. He’s either sleeping, eating, being held, or relaxing in his baby gym and looking at his toys.
My kids have all varied slightly in their infant sleeping habits. Carter was up every two hours to nurse, and I remember how tired I felt when I would wake up from a deep sleep to him crying. Luckily, he always went right back to sleep without a problem, and so did I! Vanessa slept six hours a night, right out of the gate, so she was my easiest.
Harrison has been kind of in-between, one night sleeping from 10:30pm to 6:30am (!) and other nights waking up two or three times to nurse.
I was contacted by the Nested Bean, who wanted to send Harrison one of their products, the Zen Swaddle, to try out. I almost declined because so much is going on, and because I haven’t had much luck with swaddlers in the past.
But boy am I glad I decided to give it a try! The Zen Swaddle is awesome! Moms-to-be, you need to add this to your registries, and I will tell you why.
The Zen Swaddle “combines the benefits of swaddling and the power of touch to provide a time-tested and truly safe, secure environment for your baby. Its lightly weighted parts apply gentle pressure on your baby’s sides and center to provide the comfort and security of being held.”
As soon as I got the package, we had to give it a try (which is why Harry is on the carpet)!
The Zen Swaddle is a basically a large piece of material that wraps around baby, making him feel soothed and comfortable. You can swaddle the baby with his arms in or out. There is a smaller leg pouch sewn into the inside, so that smaller and/or younger babies can feel even more tightly swaddled.
But the thing that makes the Zen Swaddle stand out is the little bean bag-like pouches, one that rests on baby’s chest, and two that rest against baby’s sides. These weighted pouches simulate a mother’s touch and helps babies relax and sleep more soundly.
Which in turn helps their mamas to relax and sleep more soundly!
You can read more on the Nested Bean site about the benefits of swaddling.
We’ve used the Zen Swaddle the past three nights, and I can attest to how well it works. We slept great! Harrison is now on a pretty reliable schedule of sleeping from 9ish to 4am, when he nurses, and then again until 7 or 8am. I am very well-rested for being a mom of a 1-month-old!
Like what you see? Well Nested Bean has agreed to give one of their Zen Swaddles to one of my readers! Come back on August 8th for the Summer Baby Loving giveaway hop, where I’ll be giving away a Zen Swaddle and a Tiny Love 3-in-1 rocker napper!

Wow…that’s an AWESOME sleep schedule for a one month old! ryan is going on 3 months and I’m still feeding him closer to midnight and he is only sleeping till 7 am! and he is swaddled! I need to try one of these!
Wonder if its the magic bean bags? LOL
Wow. I am going to remember this for my next baby. Sounds great!
AW! We had our babies on the same day! My daughter will be one month old on Saturday as well. :)
I like that it’s lightly padded to provide some structure. Most swaddle blankets don’t have that!
My daughter never liked being swaddled, but having the option to keep the arms out, and the little inner pocket for smaller babies, make this swaddle seem worth a try.
I always hear about swaddling and the benefits…our daughter in law is doing that with our 4 week old grandson. Seems to be working for them!
Oh my gosh, SO cute! I love the light padding in it. Makes all the difference :)
What a sweet swaddle, and what an adorable model! :) I love the weighted pouches. What a clever idea!
I love having swaddles for my babies. It seems to be very high quality.
Aw, this swaddler is so cute! I am a huge fan of swaddling, my daughter was swaddled until she was 9 months. This swaddler looks like it makes swaddling so easy!
I love this, wish I had for my boys. I love the light touch of the padded pouches!!!!
This looks so easy to use, and more snug than other brands. I’d love to try it!

I love how cute it is.
I like that it have the bean bag pouches on the front to simulate a mother’s touch.
I like that you can swaddle the baby with his arms in or out.
Love the weighted pouches! I’ve never even heard of that!
it looks so easy to use – and the pouches that make it like baby is being held look super thoughtful
That is an adorable swaddle. I have a pregnant friend who would love it.
Good job on your sleep schedule! I’m still on that schedule with my 8 month old. I love swaddlers, both my kids were swaddled until around 6 months. It has helped us get so much more sleep!
I like how it has the pouches on the front and sides. Ive never heard of a product having that but it sounds neat
I love that there are leg pouches for tinier babies!
these make swaddling look easy

I love that it has little bean pouches! So smart!
I like how easy this is to use, and the pouches are a great idea.
This would be perfect for my new grandbaby. I want it!
I love how it helps the baby feel secure.
What a neat idea! This is what I like about it… “Bean bag-like pouches, that rests on baby’s chest, and sides to simulate a mother’s touch and helps baby relax and sleep more soundly.”

I love that you can wrap the arms but leave the legs more loosely covered. That’s supposed to be better for hip development.
I love the pouches; that’s the best part.

this would be perfect for my little one on the way!
Wow this is so awesome I love the weighted parts to make the baby feel as though you are still holding them. Thank you so much for this wonderful review
I love he option for arms out. my son was a thumb sucker and hated arms in!
I love that it helps baby sleep better.
It looks sooo soft!
Ilove it!!!!!! I wonder how well it would work for my grand daughter. It would be well worth a try. She doesnt sleep very well at night.
My favorite feature is that it has a smaller leg pouch sewn into the inside.
It’s such a cute design and it looks like it would make baby feel so safe and comfortable.

I love the design!
I like that the bottom of the swaddle comes out like a bag. The current swaddler that I have is very narrow, which bothers my baby, she likes to sprawl her legs out, lol.
I love that it has weighted parts to make baby think they’re being held. I know this helps SO much when trying to get things done while baby is sleeping and wearing isn’t an option, like taking a shower!
I like the that it has weighted parts! Very interesting!
I like that the baby’s arms are not tuck in with it.
Weighted parts… what a great idea! I have a friend who would have loved one of these with her last baby! He did not sleep well at night for months… :/
I love that it makes swaddling easier.
We swaddled our little guy often in his first few months. I love the design of the bean bag pouches inside the swaddle.
