Making Summer Meal Planning Easy

by Megan

What do meal planning, sports drinks, and Archie Bradley have in common? Well, they all came together at Fry’s last weekend when we went to pick up our groceries! This post is sponsored by Bodyarmor Sports Drink.

We’ve recently discovered grocery pick-up services, such as Fry’s ClickList, and I’ll never go back to traditional grocery shopping again! With it being summer, and all of my kids (and husband) at home, meal planning has become more important.

I’m not going to lie, there have been weeks (months) when I’ve run to the grocery store (or fast food joint) just before every mealtime because I was too busy to plan ahead. But a little planning goes a long way. And when picking up groceries is as easy as pulling up to the curb and letting someone load your car, there really is no excuse for not being prepared for dinner!

This is my plan for fast and easy meal planning and grocery shopping! It takes a little bit of time at first, but once you have your system down, you'll save yourself a lot of time!

Here is how we make meal planning and grocery shopping easy. It takes a little bit of time at first, but once you have your system down, you’ll save yourself a lot of time!

Easy Summer Meal Planning

  1. Take time to put together 20-25 of your favorite dinner recipes. I have a list for colder months and one for warmer months.
  2. Divide your recipes into four weeks. Shoot for a variety of meals while overlapping ingredients if you can.
  3. Make a list of all the ingredients you need- one list for each week.
  4. Make a list of the things you need to buy every single week (milk, bread, breakfast items, etc) and add them to each of your four lists.
  5. Make a list of things you need to buy once a month (paper towels, diapers, etc), and divide those things up among the four lists.
  6. When it’s time to order your groceries, grab one of your lists and order everything on it!

This past weekend we were in for a real surprise, though! We placed our order online and who should deliver our groceries to the car but Diamondbacks pitcher, Archie Bradley!

Okay, truthfully, we knew he would be there, so we came in our Dbacks hats and shirts, which he happily signed!

Archie was doing a meet-and-greet at the Fry’s, on behalf of Bodyarmor.

He met and chatted with fans, handed out Bodyarmor samples, and became a Fry’s employee for the day, helping to pick out ClickList customers’ groceries and load up their cars!

We got to try some of the Bodyarmor samples for ourselves, and we all loved them!

BODYARMOR is a premium, sports drink that provides superior hydration. It is packed with electrolytes, coconut water and vitamins and is low in sodium and high in potassium. BODYARMOR contains natural flavors and sweeteners and no colors from artificial sources.

We ordered a 6-pak of Fruit Punch and one of Strawberry Banana. But when Archie brought out our groceries, he brought us several extra!

It was so fun to meet Archie and get some autographs. While he was loading our groceries, Harrison, my 4-year-old, asked Archie if he brought donuts! Well shoot, I hadn’t ordered any! So what was Archie going to say?

He said, “I didn’t bring donuts, but how about some tickets to a Diamondbacks game?”

Wow! Yep, he gave us 6 tickets to an upcoming game, and we can’t wait to go!

I hope you found my summer meal planning tips helpful. After you invest that initial time to organize your recipes, it’s so easy!

Don’t forget to add Bodyarmor to your lists to stay hydrated this summer, and be sure to use Fry’s ClickList to make grocery shopping a breeze. Hey, you never know who you might meet!
