Baby Steps to a Better You: Welcome and 1st Challenge

Good morning! It’s a new day and a new month, and I’m so glad you’re here. Today I’m kicking off 30 days of personal challenges, which I’m calling “Baby Steps to a Better You!”

I’ll be posting once a day for 30 days, sharing helpful information along with a simple action step you can take each day to improve yourself physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I’ll be sharing workouts you can do at home, ways to maximize your time, easy recipes, products to help you stay healthy, and lots more. Join me, and by the end of the month, we’ll be rocking our new and improved selves!

Baby Steps to a Better You: 30 Days of Personal Challenges

The idea and the goal is “life optimization.” How can you minimize the time you spend doing the things you don’t enjoy but which are required of you, and how can you maximize the time you spend doing the things you love?

I thought I’d start today by asking, what are your goals? The first step to achieving a goal is identifying it! Once you know what you want, you can figure out the smaller steps it will take to get you there.

So let’s start with the big picture. Today we get to do some daydreaming. Fun right?

Picture your ideal life. Where would you live? What would you do all day? Which things would you do yourself, and which things would you let someone else take care of?

Now, snap back to reality for a moment. How do those things differ from your current situation? Maybe some of your dreams are within reach, and maybe some seem impossibly far. Hopefully there are a few aspects of your ideal life that you are already living!

Now think ahead to 30 days from now. How do you want to be different in 30 days? How can you reach or come closer to your goals in that amount of time? Maybe there is a healthy habit you want to start, or maybe you want to be in a totally new job by next month.

It is my hope that by reading these 30 posts and following the action steps, you’ll be inspired to improve your life in small ways that, when put together, have the power to benefit you in a major way and give you the time and energy to pursue your goals, full-force!

So today’s action step is simple- pick one of your goals and take the first step.

One of my goals is to improve my health, so today I drank a bottle of water at lunch instead of reaching for a can of Coke. A simple substitution, and I know that momentum is everything! When I make one right choice, I’m more likely to make a second, and that continues exponentially.

Just what I need to kickstart the fall. Wanting to get back to being more active. Today I went for a walk when I woke up in the morning before the kids were up. Great start to the day. Looking forward to your month of inspiration!

30 days from now I want to have exercised at least three times a week. Nothing too crazy, I really need to get back into shape. This was a great motivator!

I think I read this at the right time. Especially after hearing Crafty Chica last night.

I write my monthly goals, but I think I need an end goal pinned in my work space to help me focus on the goals and take baby steps towards that big goal. Help me focus more!
