Today I want to tell you about Anytime Snacks.
This is an idea I got from here, which I found through Pinterest. She’s got a lot of smart ideas of how to make life with kids just a bit easier.
#17. Fill a basket in the fridge with simple, healthy, kid-friendly snacks. Let the kids pick their own snack from the basket at snack time.
That was my favorite tip, so I bought this cute little bin at Target in the dollar section (it was $2.50), and filled it with snacks that Carter can eat whenever he wants.
So far I have bags of baby carrots, string cheese, and apple sauce. I’ve been meaning to add celery, but haven’t gotten around to cutting it yet. I love the idea of healthy snacks at-the-ready that he can grab whenever he wants, and it saves me time to get the snacks ready once and not every time he asks for one. I might need another one for non-refrigerated snacks!
Carter is excited about it too. Since I put this together, he’s mentioned his “anytime snacks” several times a day. It’s very easy to get a 3-4 year old excited; even a piece of paper can excite them when presented in the right way! It’s also helping him to become more independent and make his own choices.
There you have it: Anytime Snacks!

I do the same thing! and I have no children:) I try and break the carrots, goldfish and pretzels into baggies so there is a small serving ready for on the go! Cheese sticks, I gotta get some of those.
ooh, love that!
stopping by from the blog hop:)
Healthy snacks the way to go. Thanks for sharing this great idea.

good idea!!
This is a great idea!! I hate that whiney “Can I have a snack?” that my kids belt out at all the inconvient times ;) Now I can just say, get it yourself, and not worry that they are going to pull out frosting and ritz crakers!! Thanks for sharing.
I do something like this every week for lunches, grab and go.
