Oh, 1987! I wish I could say I have memories of you, but alas it was at least another year before I can recall some details of my early life.
In 1987, we were still living in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. My mom taught school, and my dad worked at a software company. My older brother was in Kindergarten, and my little sister was yet to come. I spent the school days with my Gramma, the afternoons at our condo’s playground, and the summer mornings at the beach! In the fall I started nursery school in a converted garage. I went for two years before starting Kindergarten.
Here are some pictures from that year:
I had to include the above photo, just to document the absurdly large video camera we owned. That was taken at the National Zoo. From the photo album I was looking through, it looks like we took two separate vacations to Atlantic City and Washington D.C. that year.
My third birthday party. My mom dressed up as a panda and came in with balloons for me. We have an amazing video of it, where you can hear all the adults in the background making fun of the panda bear. I’ll have to post it sometime. It’s a classic.
See the girl in the pink? Our moms taught together, and then we ended up going to college together years later, both theatre majors. We also have a video from shortly after this photo was taken, where she blew out my candles! They were relit, and I got to blow them out the second time!
And now it’s time for me to get this linky started and head to bed! Sweet dreams and happy reminiscing!

THey are from Zoobilee Zoo: I know the theme song too:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5Y6GxqrKO90. I hated them. My sister liked them. I thought they were super creepy.
I so remember Zoobilee Zoo! I also totally love the big video camera! Those things were so heavy—but you were really cool if your family owned one! New follower from Mom’s Monday Mingle.
Such cute photos!
