6 months is a great age! Baby is finally sitting up and loves to play with toys. She might even be in that sweet spot of being able to sit and play, but not crawl off the blanket yet! Now is a great time to introduce baby to some fun toys, and maybe even get a minute to yourself.
My little one, Melody, is so much fun right now. And she LOVES her toys. Here are some of her favorites:
Baby Toys for 6-Month-Olds
Good for On-The-Go: Baby Einstein Take Along Tunes
We’ve had our Take Along Tunes since baby #1. It’s perfect for little hands, and when they hit the big button, they are treated to a light and music show!
For Grabby Hands: Disney Minnie Mouse Soft Book
The Disney Minnie Mouse Soft Book makes a crinkly sound, and Melody loves to play with it, chew on it, and look at the pictures when I sit down with her and turn the pages!
For Calm Diaper Changes: Miss Melody Animated Singing Teddy Bear
Once baby can roll over, diaper changes become a bit more…adventuresome. This Miss Melody bear sings five songs, moving her mouth and swaying along to the music, and captivates my Melody into staying still!
Best Playtime Investment: Tiny Love Super Mat
It’s so nice to have a comfy blanket for baby to play with her toys on, and bonus if the mat has fun things to play with and bright pictures to look at. And when playtime is over, just roll up the toys inside the blanket until next time!
For Keeping Them Entertained: Tolo Mouse Rattle
This cute mouse toy has a variety of textures, shapes, and interesting details to keep baby entertained. Hand it over instead of your keys when baby gets fussy in the store or car.
For The High Chair: VTech Spin and Discover Ferris Wheel
Bright lights and sounds will keep baby busy while you prepare her food (or get a bite for yourself)!
Best For Playtime: VTech Busy Learners Activity Cube
This activity cube was the first toy that my Melody would play with on her own! She loved to explore (and taste!) all the different sides of the cube and see what she could make happen.
Best For Early Walkers: VTech Sit-to-Stand Learning Walker
Heaven help me, my little one is already all over the place, pulling herself up on everything. She wants to walk so badly and keep up with her siblings! This versatile walker has lots for sitters to do, and it will help them learn the skills they need to start walking when they’re ready. Hear that, Melody? When you’re ready!
Oh the first year is such a whirlwind of ups, downs, and many sweet baby snuggles, but it goes by so fast! I’m doing my best to remember to slow down, get on the floor with my baby and just play!
