28 Date Ideas To Make Every Day Valentine’s Day #ad

A while back I read a blog post by one of my favorite bloggers who mentioned that every day before her husband came home from work, she would put on (or reapply) lipstick. It was her way of showing her husband that she loved him, thought about him when he was away, and cared enough about him to want to look nice for him when he came home. I made a plan to do the same. Well that plan lasted approximately no days, but I was still inspired to do a better job of showing my husband that I love him.

The goal that topped my list for 2014 was to work on improving my marriage. Don’t worry, we are doing great. But I want to continue to do great, and anyone who is married knows that it’s always a work in progress. You should never stop trying to improve your relationship.

So goal in mind, I created a calendar for February 2014, which has an idea on every day for something you can do for or with your partner to show your love for him or her, grow your friendship, and enhance intimacy. I think a lot of the ideas are really fun, so I hope you will take a look and even pin it if you’d like! Here it is:

The ideas on my calendar include all love languages: quality time, words of affirmation, gifts, physical touch, and acts of service. When you do a combination of these five things, you are guaranteed to make your man or lady happy!

As you’ll see on the calendar, I promised some extra notes on some of the date suggestions, so I will now go into a little more detail on some of the ideas.

February 7th: Hide Love Notes For Each Other

We’ve done this in the past, but with random objects that we’ve found instead of love notes. Once it was a leg from a cat stuffed animal (don’t even ask), and once it was a tiny paper clip that we kept surreptitiously clipping to each other’s clothing. It was fun to find it later on, when we least expected it, and to have a little reminder of each other while we were apart. Love notes are a normal person’s way of having the same fun! Write a cute or sexy message on a post-it note, and leave it some place where he’ll find it later on, preferably when you’re not around.

February 12th: Try Something New

You can interpret this anyway you’d like. *wink wink wink* Maybe you could combine this one with February 21st: Buy something sexy. If so, I have a suggestion. You know that section of the grocery store/pharmacy that makes you a little uncomfortable to stand and look at for too long?

Make Every Day Valentine's Day! #KYdatenight #ad #cbiashere is “that section” in Walmart- clearly the K-Y Yours+Mine is flying off the shelves!

Yes, I’m talking about the family planning (or non-planning!) section. Well, there are products to be found there that may make your night a little more exciting.

I love the “Directions” section on the back of the K-Y Yours+Mine Couples Lubricants. Now you’ll have to go check it out and see what it says! Also, specially-marked boxes include a $40 gift card to use toward a free streaming movie from VUDU.com and a gourmet meal you can make at home together from Plated.com (see February 10th)! Why not try this out on the actual Valentine’s Day?

February 13th: Play a Questions Game

Find out more about each other by playing Desert Island, Top 3, etc. Or buy one of those books or games that has you asking hypothetical questions of each other. This one is great for long car rides!

February 19th: Talk About Your Past

One night at dinner, Daniel and I told each other what we were doing 15 years prior, 10 years prior, and 9, 8, 7, etc, until the previous year. It was really interesting to look back and remember where we were and what we were doing back then, and several of the years we talked about reminded us of a fun memory that we had had together.

February 20th: Talk About Your Future

Where do you want to be in a year? 5 years? 10 years? Where do you ultimately want to settle down? Do you want to travel? Are you done having kids? How many do you want? What are your career goals? It’s always fun to check in and see what you and your partner have in mind for the future.

February 23rd: List 10 Things You Love About Each Other

And save your lists for a rough day, so you can read them and feel better.

February 25th: Just Do It

Let’s be honest. The way to a man’s heart is directly through exactly where you’d expect. Want your man to worship the ground you walk on? Just do it.

February 28th: Go On A Fun Date

I mean fun! I’m talking the local arcade, mini golf, karaoke. Think outside the box and do something that will have you interacting with each other (as opposed to going to the movies again). A little healthy competition is always good.

Well I hope I’ve given you plenty of ideas to make this February the most romantic month yet! Don’t forget the K-Y, Plated, and VUDU offer, which would make for one amazing date night, whether you do it on February 14th or not!

Get on it, ladies. *wink wink wink*

I have a post similar to this sitting in my drafts! I’ve come across people who think if you work hard at your marriage there’s must be something wrong. I LOVE your ideas and will definitely be implementing them!
