2014 at a glance

by Megan

I was looking back at some blog posts from the beginning of 2013, and in one of them I talked about the plans I had for each month of the year. Turns out I did pretty much everything I mentioned! I thought I’d do the same for this year, so here is 2014 at a glance!

2014 should be a less hectic year than 2013 was. In 2013 I did two long-term subbing assignments, while also working part-time, while being pregnant, and while having two kids at home! Then oh yeah I had a baby. We moved. And my oldest started Kindergarten. And I still worked part time and had two kids at home! Busy busy year.

I’m looking forward to a year just as filled with love and fun, but maybe a little more relaxed! I already talked about my goals for this year, and I plan to make those a focus each month, but here are some of the other things I have to look forward to:

January
We rang in the new year, and Daniel had his 32nd birthday. I took him to a Cajun place I found nearby, and he’s already been back for seconds! We are both going to run The Color Run on the 25th, in Tempe, so I need to keep up my running. I would also like to get better. It feels like I’ve been sick in one way or another since Thanksgiving, and it’s getting a little old!

February
In February Vanessa will turn 3, as she keeps telling us, so we’ll be having a party for her, and right now it’s looking like it will be a princess party! I also may attend the ENMN conference in Anaheim (or I’ll be gifting away my ticket!). Also, within the first week of February, we will pay off our credit cards! We’ve been working very hard for the past 8 months, making that a priority, and we are almost there! 30 before 30 #2 holla!

March
We’ll be taking the show choir to TWO competitions in California (don’t know if you remember from last year, but we won), and we’ll be spending a day at Disneyland! I’m skipping the bus this year and driving out with Harrison. When my parents, who will be watching our two oldest while we are gone, realized that we were going to Disneyland, they decided to take the kids out there and go to the parks as well. So when the show choir heads back on the bus, I’ll be staying an extra day with my parents and kids, and we’ll have another day at the parks before driving back.

Also in March is a week of spring break, which we haven’t made any plans for yet.

April
Who knows?! As of right now, I have zero plans for April! Whatcha got for me, April?

May
In May, I’ll be going to the Elevate blog conference for the second time. Last year was so much fun, and I think I’ll have even more friends there this year! It’s the end of the school year, and Carter will have his Kindergarten graduation! *tears* Oh, and I have a little birthday this month. Turning 30. No big deal.

June
In June Harrison will have his first birthday! Maybe we’ll have a pool party and we’ll have to take the traditional cake smash photos, since we did that with both Carter and Vanessa!

The rest of the month will probably be spent relaxing and enjoying our summer break, since July will be busy traveling…

July
…to Maine! My parents have an awesome beach house reserved for two weeks, so we’ll be road tripping out and back with our whole clan. I am beyond excited to visit all the fun places where I grew up. It will have been three years since I’ve been there, so a visit is definitely in order. It will also have been 10 years since Daniel and I met in Maine, so we intend on visiting some of the places we went that summer and reliving our early days.

August
Carter will turn 6 at the end of August, and he will be a 1st grader! Daniel will go back to school, and it will still be me, Vanessa, and Harry at home together!

September
Hopefully I will continue running throughout the year, but in September I will start training for a marathon in January!

October, November, December
Marathon training and the holidays! Basically this is too far ahead to know what else will be happening! But we will be with my family for Thanksgiving, and Daniel’s family over Christmas. In October we’ll celebrate 9 years of marriage. And then we’ll be looking forward to 2015, during which, if all goes according to plan, I expect to be expecting #4 (and final)! Then in 2016 we will hopefully complete our family, Vanessa will start Kindergarten, and whoa that’s way too far ahead!

For now I’ll stay focused on the year at hand and all of the fun things we’re going to do!

Yay! We are staying in Old Orchard Beach…or it might actually be Saco. I’m not sure. It’s Pine Point. How far away is that from you?

Not too far at all. I grew up in Kittery and my parents live in the next town over now. I’m about an hour from Kittery and wells p/on is about another 30 minutes or so I would say.
